Self Defense

Our supportive, structured environment will give you a new sense of empowerment and confidence. You will be more capable of handling an assault; at the same time you will learn ways to potentially avoid one. While most participants enjoy developing the skills necessary to perform complicated moves like a jump spin kick, others prefer a more simplistic approach to the defensive arts. This program is geared towards anyone over the age of 15 who is searching for ways to be their own protection. 

When considering this program, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do you know how to avoid potentially dangerous situations in high risk areas?
  2. Are you more likely to freeze or yell and fight back if you were attacked?
  3. Can you quickly determine areas on the body that you should hit if attacked, and could you accurately hit those targets? 
  4. Would you be able to get away from someone actively pursuing you if that person was faster, larger, and stronger?

As a student of the self defense program, you will learn critical thinking skills to effectively defend yourself. A good technique in martial arts can be simple and effective without losing value against someone up to twice your size and weight.
