Self Defense

Our supportive, structured environment will give you a new sense of empowerment and confidence. You will be more capable of handling an assault; at the same time you will learn how to avoid one in the first place. While most participants enjoy developing the skills necessary to perform complicated moves like a jump spin kick, others prefer a more simplistic approach to the defensive arts. This program is geared towards anyone over the age of 15 who is searching for ways to be their own protection.

When considering this program, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do you know how to avoid assault in potentially high risk areas?
  2. Would you freeze, or would you yell, if you were attacked?
  3. Can you think on the spot of areas of weakness on the body of the attacker, and can you accurately hit those areas?
  4. Would you be able to get away from someone actively pursuing you if that person were larger and stronger?

As a student of the self defense program, you will learn critical thinking skills to actively defend yourself. A good technique in martial arts can be simplified to it's effectiveness not losing value against someone up to twice your size and weight.
